Contract Software Engineer


Cakewalk is seeking a contract developer with knowledge of video APIs. Specifically, strong understanding of DirectShow and Windows Media Foundation required to create replacement video engine using Windows Media Foundation. Must understand synchronization of video streams with audio, clocks and other real-time streaming considerations. Understanding of Quicktime and other video codecs in the context of DirectShow and MF is an added plus. C++ required. Good general design and COM essential.

As a contract engineer, you will work on implementing solutions based on specifications from Cakewalk engineering and product management. Candidates must be fluent in C++, be able to write maintainable and robust code, and be able to work remotely with minimal supervision. You will work with Engineering, QA, and Product Management.

Web Programmer – contract position


In this role, the web programmer will be responsible for the infrastructure, programming, and maintenance of Cakewalk web properties including the main website, store, and email. The position will report to the director of sales and marketing to support the marketing and sales initiatives including direct marketing, channel sales, and the broadening of online sales and marketing throughout the world. In addition, this person will be required to know the latest trends in online marketing, website design, best practices, and browser compatibility.

Responsibilities:



Web:

  • Manage and maintain all current and future web-based properties including:
    • Website
    • Store
    • Email
  • Program, maintain and improve the website to support various initiatives including
    • New product launches
    • Channel support
    • Dealer Finder
    • Co-marketing
    • Video and education
  • Will implement best practices including SEO, browser compatibility, accessibility, and emerging technologies

E-commerce development:

  • Maintain and improve the look and feel of the store
  • Allow for expansion of direct business into new countries
  • Create and test pages for online campaigns like AdWords

Skills:

  • 2-5 years of experience
  • ASP.net/C# programming experience
  • Proficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Experience with CMS systems
  • Experience with version control systems such as Kiln
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Must be able to consult on site in the office occasionally
  • BYOD – bring your own devices (Windows required)
  • Music experience a plus

Graphic Designer


Cakewalk, a leading developer of Windows and Mac-based music software solutions, is looking for a cutting edge graphic designer to join the sales and marketing team. In this role, the graphic designer will be responsible for creating all design and branding elements for Cakewalk products. This includes ensuring a cohesive and effective brand strategy across all marketing mediums and sales channels. In addition, the graphic designer will be responsible for staying up-to-date on the latest trends in advertising and marketing, and growing Cakewalk into a strong, unique brand for years to come.

We are a small and energetic team that works closely together to develop ideas and then execute them. In this role, the graphic designer will not only be responsible for creating assets, but will contribute to the ideas that drive the design. Design:

  • Manage Cakewalk’s design strategy and execution across various mediums including creation of assets for:

    • Collateral
    • Packaging
    • Store
    • Forum
    • Tradeshows
    • Print and online advertising
  • Communicate and solicit feedback from management and other groups across Cakewalk regarding design and branding
  • Manage the design schedule for launches and campaigns, and create milestones and review periods for key stakeholders

Branding:

  • Create and maintain a cohesive brand for Cakewalk across all marketing mediums
  • Keep up to date on latest advertising, web, and design trends that could benefit Cakewalk
  • Ensure that Cakewalk stays relevant and fresh across different campaigns and products, while maintaining a brand identity

Required Skills:



  • B.A in design, graphics, or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience in graphic design
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Flash and rich media knowledge a plus
  • Understanding of packing, print specs and offset printing
  • A basic understand of HTML, CSS and web programming
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Fun personality with the ability work in a team environment
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Love of music a plus
